The cutting temperature is an important factor of the cutting in the cutting process. The tool wear state is affected by the cutting temperature. It is not only related to the tool life, but also related to the quality of the workpiece.Therefore, it is very important to study the temperature distribution of the cutting zone and understand the cutting temperature distribution affected by the cutting conditions.At present, the research on the simulation of cutting temperature is essentially two-dimensional cutting simulation, compared to the 3D simulation, error is bigger. In addition, the impacts of chipbreaker groove on cutting temperature basic no related research.This chapter based on DEFORM 3D finite element simulation method for the distribution of metal cutting zone temperature field simulation studies conducted. Analysis to the cutting speed, cutting depth, feed rate influence on the cutting zone temperature and temperature distributions. Study the effect of pass through chipbreaker groove for the cutting temperature and temperature field. Under the same cutting conditions, compared the common tool and pass through chipbreaker groove tool of the temperature distribution. To the cutting tool, the results showed that the use of pass through chipbreaker groove cutting tool can effectively reduce the cutting zone temperature and improve high-temperature distribution.These results have important reference to the design of chipbreaker groove and setting cutting speed parameters. This allows the chipbreaker groove that is benefit to chip breaking, and can effectively reduce the temperature of the cutting zone, to improve the high temperature distribution tool. This prediction "test" of the finite element simulation method that can reduce the numerous repetitive cutting experiments, reduce costs, supplies and study time; effectively improve the efficiency and effectiveness of production and processing.
