Protecting biological diversity and disseminating Environmental Education are the main functions of the Nature reserve. The development of ecological tourism in nature reserve has become a trend. In recent years, with the increasing awareness of the public’s participation and the development of ecological tourism, the functional nature reserve has been not only protection and research, and gradually become an important place for ecological tourism and popular science education. However, the educations’effect is unknown, which has been the unsolved problem in the practice of the environmental education of ecological tourism. If there is no quantitative evaluation of the effect of environmental education, it can’t promote eco-tourism environmental education into a systematic, standardized and scientific developing way.Through reading a lot of literature, the author founds that Metacognition strategies can not only provide knowledge to educators, and can quickly give educators an feedback about the educational effect. The Metacognition strategies makes up for the deficiency of traditional teaching methods. As a result, this paper presents the hypothesis of applying metacognitive theory to enhance the effect of environmental education. This paper takes Zhalong National Nature Reserve of tourists as the research object, carrying out the following work:1. Using the ways of interviews, observation and discussion to learn the content of Environmental education and environmental interpretation, the author founds the Nature reserve has carried out environmental education activities on all the World Wetlands Day, World Environment Day and Bird-Loving Week. However, the infrastructure of the Environmental interpretation is insufficient. There are only several warning signs, road signs and panels in the Nature reserve while The tour guide word is inflexible.2. The author applied Metacognitive strategies to self guided and guide interpretation and analyzed the difference in the knowledge, sense of participation between the tourists who were receiving the Metacognitive strategies and the tourists who were not. The author proved that the tourists who were receiving the Metacognitive strategies were higher in the level of those three aspects than the tourists who were not. As a result, the Metacognitive strategies was proved useful.3. By means of questionnaire method survey and analysis the willingness, the requirement and satisfaction of tourists to visit about the environmental interpretation, found that getting close to nature and feeling characteristics of wetlands and watching birds are the motivation for most of tourists; tourists are more prefer to the way of Environmental Interpretation by guide; it has a high satisfaction about the Environmental Interpretation of the whole nature reserve. Based on the whole results, the author puts forward some suggestions about the Zhalong Nature Reserve Environmental Interpretation by Metacognitive strategies.
