The development of China’s industry is faster and faster, as the importantindustrial raw material and ammoniated feed, the ammonia plays a more and moreimportant role. Therefore, all of the ammonia synthetic ammonia company isincreasing the production of synthetic ammonia. Based on the existing equipment, toincrease the production of the synthetic ammonia need make the equipment workunder high load operation. Whether the original equipment can meet the needs of highload production becomes the key factors for the synthetic ammonia company.This paper mainly aims at the problem of Synthetic gas compressor which worksunder high load in the baling company which is a subcompany of the Sinopec Group.There is a big deviation between the system design parameters and operating data,especially when the ammonia production capacity is1200tons/day or more. Throughsorting, calculating and investigating the problem data of the Synthetic gascompressor which works under high load production, this paper analyzes the causes ofequipment failure. Then the causes are deeply analyzed and the correspondingimprovement measures are put forward. Finally, local modification and processoptimization are done and the experimental verification is given.The main contents of this paper are:(1) Describes the basic situation of Baling Petrochemical and the transformationprocesses of Ammonia plant, and introduces the development of ammonia process atdomestic and overseas and the research status about synthesis compressor.(2) using casual method to summarize the problems of the running synthesis gascompressor, then classifying these problems into three categori es: equipmentproblems, manufacturing problems and monitoring problems.(3) For the problem of syngas compressor can not adapt to high load operation,this paper adjusts the craft route, the inlet pressure,the synthesis tower and the highpressure turbine accordingly.(4) Analyzes the problems about the pressure steam balance, table cold vacuumsystem, coupling between fractures, coupling failure and so on. An enhancing methodis given.(5) Upgrades the monitoring system and integrated control and the interlockprotection system of synthesis compressor. The diagnosis system and governing system are updated.
