The method of traditional production patterns is mainly based on the garment size or the basic dimensions of the human body, calculating each detailed proportion of the garment for pattern design as a matter of experience. it could be draw a prototype and design the garment pattern based on the prototype, which is manual work and takes a long time, and depends on the pattern maker strongly. In recent years, the application of CAD in garment trade has improved design speed of template, but this does not get rid of dependence on the pattern maker and the design process not intelligent either. This paper took the round neck collar line for example, and study influence of changes of the control points on collar structure. It studied collar type structure from a new perspective by the method of practice research, basic research, experimental design and data analysis, and then studied the diversification model of round neck collar line, which provided a new approach for intelligent template. The main contents of this paper are as follows.(1)This paper studied the structural and morphological characteristics of chest, back and shoulder of human body, analyzed design principles of round neck collar, and made a detailed analysis and research. It could be analyzed that side point and neck point had restraints on the collar-shaped profile. Length of horizontal open-collar and depth of straight open-collar decided collar profile and the control point between side point and neck point determined the final shape of the collar arc. Therefore, the side point, the neck point and the of the control point(the point of the collar arc between the side point and the neck point) are key variables in changes of the collar structure.(2)For more analysis of affects of the side point, the neck point and the control point of collar nest line on the collar structure, the paper took round neck collar line for example to perform an experiment design. It superimposed 9 round neck collar lines in the same style but in different size, extracted the coordinates of the side point, the neck point and thecontrol point and studied the relationship between this three kinds of points in the same coordinate system. Finally, a mathematical model of collar structural changes based on the side point, the neck point and the control point was established.(3)The effective test of experimental data and data analysis were conducted by variance analysis, cluster analysis and so on. Based on above analysis of the experimental data, the regression model of the side point, the neck point and the control point was established.This paper provided a more feasible and scientific approach for exploring intelligent clothing patterns,and has great academic and practical value.
