Environmental issues have become a hot topic that people focus on. In recent years, the development at the expense of overused ecological and damaging the environment are no more suited to ours country’s development-oriented that is environmentally oriented and eco first, it is inevitably needed to take effective measures to protect the ecological and retain the blue sky and the mountains. The designate of ecological red line is a powerful tonic to the protection of ecologically sensitive and fragile areas, so, ecological compensation in eco red area is an effective means to protect the ecological red and constitute an important aspect of sounding the environmental policy system.The article sets Liyang City’s ecological red line areas as a starting point, describing the concepts and theories foundation of the ecological compensation in ecological red line areas, exploring the experiences and practices of ecological compensation abroad, elaborating on the current situation, the problems and the reasons of the ecological compensation in Liyang’s ecological redline areas, lastly putting forward some ideas of building the ecological compensation in ecological red line areas in three angles such as culture, management, system, the aim is not only to protect Liyang’s ecological security, pretend ecological degradation and to achieve the unity of economic, social and ecological benefits, but also to give some advice on establishing ecological compensation mechanism in ecological redline area over the province in order to extended to other provinces and make experiments, and even hoping the research results become an useful complement of the theoretical research of China’s ecological compensation mechanism.
