It can’t satisfy the people’s increasing internal consumption need. On the other hand, influenced by postmodernism, artists try to create jewelry with ideas, bold use of jewelry materials. However, the use of these cheap materials has also been questioned by consumers. The future of jewelry creation should continue the tradition, or will restructure the concept. Facing the present situation and questions of jewelry industry, this thesis makes the following discussion.The evolution of jewelry culture is accompanied by the development of human civilization. They are inseparable. Along with the development of human civilization, the role and function of the jewelry has also changed constantly, for example, in the period of prehistoric civilization, jewelry is the ancient human consciousness on the expression of the ignorant. In the period of ancient civilization, jewelry is a media to communicate with the gods and the symbol of power. During the feudal period, jewelry serves for the ruler, to reflect the ideas of imperial power and religion. During the period of expansion of capitalism, the jewelry becomes the ornament, serving for the noble. At the same time, it symbolizes wealth and position. However, with the change of social environment and people’s thoughts more civilized, in order to serve today’s society and the public better, the old features and attributes of the jewelry need to reform, to establish a new jewelry culture system.This paper analyzes the evolution of jewelry in history, looking for the source of jewelry, understanding the development history of jewelry, combined with the cultural background and movement of human society, to understand the evolution and the status quo of jewelry development. Meanwhile, this paper also makes an analysis of the contemporary jewelry artists’ creative ideas and work significance, to discuss the importance and necessity of concept in jewelry creation, to discuss the change of the concept how to affect the use of jewelry materials, shape and wearing manner. According to the analysis and summary of the contemporary jewelry, to strip the bound of traditional material and crafts, to explore the new feature and properties of contemporary jewelry, to make jewelry blooms more beautiful flowers in the mud.
