Analysis Of Ecological Socialism

Eco-socialism came into being in Germany in 1970's, headquarter of Green Movement, yet after 1980's, along with the vigorous development of Green Movement, eco-socialist ideological trend rose rapidly in the entire Western Europe, and gradually it became a worldwide tide and movement. This thesis attempts to discuss the essence of eco-socialism, to explain its basic field and the focus, and to explore the distinctions and relations between eco-socialism and our socialist system.Chapter I introduces the eco-socialist outline, mainly explaining the origin of eco-socialism, presenting the distinctions and relations between eco-socialism and traditional socialism; making clear that eco-socialism chiefly derives from the increasingly serious eco-crises, the declining of international workers'movement and the rising of both "Neo-Social Movement" and Post Modernism; and laying out a process of eco-socialist formation, its development and maturity as well.Chapterâ…¡mainly elaborates the origin of eco-socialist theory, important representatives of each stage, and it also discusses the eco-socialist theory from relevant politics, economy, culture and society.Chapterâ…¢discusses means and practices to solve eco-problems, mainly explaining eco-socialists take a wide part in both social activities and social practice along with the development of their theory. They have kept a close tie with the Green Party therefore Germany Green Party even openly declares themselves are "eco-socialists." With the Green Party from the "external system struggle" to "internal system struggle", eco-socialists have showed their governing conception on ecology.Chapter IV Contemporary Value of Eco-socialism mainly shows the rationality and limitations of eco-socialism as well as its worldwide influences. It focuses the relations between eco-socialism and our harmonious system. On the one hand eco-socialism could be of enlightenment in the construction of our harmonious society and on the other hand, the construction of our harmonious society could be demonstrating and helpful to eco-socialist development.Generally speaking, eco-socialism has established its supreme target, combining the global eco-balance with the realization of socialism, reaching "a kind of socialist system of eco-protection, unprecedented in human history, self managing and self evolving". Being immature, imperfect and underdeveloped, eco-socialism system has brought us a theoretical base and view, which is worth discussing to us after all.
