The Enlightenment Of Western Ecological Socialism Thought For Building A Socialist Harmonious Society

Western ecological socialism thought is a left-wing social thought which have been rise in the west since 1960s and 1970s. It is a production deriving from the combination of contemporary western ecological movement and theory of socialism, and it is an important part of western new social movement. The definition of broad ecological socialism can be divided into three closely related components, which are eco-Marxist theory, eco-socialism (narrow) theory, and "red-green" political movement theory. Facing the increasingly severe Ecological crisis, a socialist society with harmonious development between human and nature, people and people, as well as human and society is proposed according to ecological socialism. The socialist society is based on maintaining the ecological balance, and its main connotation includes the establishment of sustainable economic development models, healthy and rational consumption patterns, and harmonious and concordant relationships. The theory of ecological socialism contains plenty of social harmony ideologies which give us an important enlightenment for building a harmonious socialist society. It provides the choice reference to the Chinese government for the construction of the harmonious socialist society. Building a Socialist Harmonious Society is not only an important part of building socialism with Chinese characteristics and comprehensively realizing the grand goal of well-off society, but also the important condition and means for them. This thesis, based on the existing research results, using the basic principles and methodology of Marxism, combining with goal of building a harmonious society and the specific conditions of China, according to the eco-socialist critique of capitalism and the construction of the future ideal society, indicates the four important aspects of the constructing of harmonious socialist society, which are socialist harmonious economy construction, socialist harmonious politics construction, socialist harmonious culture construction, socialist harmonious ecology construction. Combined with the basic ideas and major theoretical perspectives of eco-socialist thought, the enlightenments of western ecological socialism thought for harmonious economy, politics, culture and ecology construction of socialism were expounded in the body of the thesis. Based on the study of ecological socialism's valuable ideas and the induction of the lessons in eco-socialist thought development, the historical experiences in China's harmonious society building process are summarized to provide reference for deeply implementation of socialist harmonious society construction and eventually realize the harmonious development of economy, politics, culture, ecology, which is the purposes of this thesis.
