1.Pattern and Influencing Factors of Huddling Behavior in Sichuan Snub-nosed Monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana) in the Qinling Mountains,China.Huddling is a common social behaviour which is in sleeping pattern of the non-human primates.Huddling is not only a strategy for individuals to avoid adverse environment, and can also reflect the social structure of groups. This study focused primarily on two aspects of Sichuan snub-nosed monkey(Rhinopithecus roxellana) in Qinling Mountain:the pattern formation of huddle behaviour and factors influencing such behaviour.Instantaneous and Scan Sampling and All Occurrence Sampling method were used for data collection. The results show:(1) seasonal changes in temperature significantly influence the huddle mechanism in snub-nosed monkey. For dyadic and three individuals, seasonal changes in temperature have a significant impact(dyadic:x~2=208.72,df=3,P<0.001;three:x~2=393.51,df=3,P<0.001).(2) the huddle formation mode:huddle was initiated mainly by the adult males and juveniles(x~2=67.5,df=3,P<0.001), and was accepted by adult females(x~2=22.22,df=3,P<0.001).The results show that temperature is the most important factor which affect the huddling behaviors of Sichuan Snub-nosed Monkeys.2.Sleeping-site choice pattern and the influence on Sichuan Snub-nosed Monkeys(Rhinopithecus roxellana) in the Qinling Mountains,ChinaIn non-human primate polygamy society, relationships among individuals were not distributed randomly. The location of sleeping site mode and the impact analysis of the factors were studied in this study.Instantaneous and Scan Sampling was used for data collection. The results show:(1) the observatory results of sleeping location choice was significantly different from expectation(x~2=579.21,df=5,P<0.001);the selection of individual sleeping position was significantly different(x~2=100.15,df=25,P<0.001),there were more significant difference among months and age-sex groups(P<0.05),the space which most adult female choose to have rest was central location. (2) Habitat for tree height and diameter at breast height of the selection results significantly deviated from the expected value(x~2=530.42,df=5,P<0.001,x~2= 295.69,df=6,P<0.001),the temperature changes affected the selections more significantly(x~2=479.17,df=25,P<0.001,x~2=208.19,df=30,P<0.001).The results show that the safety factor plays the most important role in choosing individual location. The selection of habitat trees depend on which can provide food.
