Application Of Gis In The Management Of Metal Ores

GIS has been widely applied to managing and disposing and analyzing spatial data. A little information of the government is not about geo-spatial data. In the world, over 40 countries, now, established themselves countries plans which are about building spatial data foundation installation. The foundation installation of spatial information has got a little development in China, but it is unfit to all requirement for economic development.The paper tries to build the data management and query system of Yunnan Province metallic minerals, the data of the system is shared in the range. On the basis of ArcGIS platform, the software named the metallic minerals data management and query system of Yunnan Province was developed with oriented object programming technology and C# .NET development tool. During building the system, the data, metallic minerals data of Yunnan Province, was collected and classed, and prepared for being copied into the system. The paper discussed how to construct the metallic minerals data management and query system of Yunnan Province by using GIS technology .Some important aspects of GIS were discussed in the paper. The paper analyzed the need and goal of building the metallic minerals data management and query system of Yunnan Province. These factors, which include getting, disposing, managing attribute data, spatial and so on, should be considered when the GIS application system was built.The system, with the mature ArcGIS platform supporting the software, implemented some functions of query, adding , change, delete and so on. That will effectively meet the needs of holding metallic minerals data for some local government, resource development departments,and resource management departments. The perfect expansibility of the system ensures the ability to updating and changing with the development of application.
