The research of light transmission has been the focus of people in all the time, and the realization of using light has even been the dream of the people. The invention of photonic crystal (PC) makes it possible to the realization of using light. Therefore photonic band(PB) and bandgap(PBG), transfer mode, dispersive , and non-linear feature produced in the transmission of photonic crystal are thoroughly studied to develop photonic crystal source exceeding electronic techonology, photonic amplifier, waveguide, switch and fiber, which becomes the heat of the field of science nationally and internationally.The research of the structure of photonic crystal band and transfer mode has been the importantly fundamental subject in the researching field of photonic crystal. Although the research has been done, and something were achieved, it is worth doing further analysis of the structure of photonic crystal bandgap and transfer mode and forming mechanism based on it. In this paper, the structure of one-dimensional photonic bandgap and longitudinal transfer mode were analysed by mainly using transfer matrix,and the feature of one or two dimensional defected transfer mode was studied by waveguide method of effective index in order to gain the meaningful result.Firstly, the normal form of electromagnetic field characterization in photonic crystal was analysed , introducing the Bolch theory of photonic crystal. Transfer law and band structure of one-dimensional photonic crystal were analysed together with traditionally optical transfer matrix of film, pointing out periodical change of index in wavelength results in the bandgap produced by photonic crystal.Secondly the portrait transfer feature of one-dimensional photonic crystal was researched using transfer matrix, indicating complete reflected apex would be produced in light distance of one forth of wavelength nearby, of which is the changing period of photonic crystal index. On partial defected layer is introduced in photonic crystal, narrow zero reflection would be produced in this complete reflected area, which is defected transferring spectrum in bandgapFurthermore, landscape waveguide transfer distribution of one-dimensional photonic crystal containing one defected layer and waveguide transfer mode of photonic crystal fiber having linear defect were analyzed. It is illuminating that the transfer mode of photonic crystal shares the same thing with traditional waveguide mode, as long as reflectivity of defected area is higher than the reflectivity of non-defected area; however, the special structure of photonic crystal make it rich and various to realize the control of transmitting character.Finally, spontaneous emission and its illustration in the photonic crystal was discussed.
