Nature of rocks is the fundamental reason for their possibility of desertification. On the basis of plentiful field investigations on random picked rocky areas in Western Guizhou,a conclusion was made that the desertification situation and exact type of Kasty rock is tightly related to their parents rocks' characters. This paper attaches parent rock's characters in analyzing how the differences between various parent rocks' physical composing, inner structure, and sedimentary trait finally result in the different types of desertification. Objects of the field investigation are separately picked carbonate rock stratums belonging to different periods, in several locations of Western Guizhou, hereby the scientific conclusion on the connection between degree of the desertification and stratums themselves was made through both macro and micro analyze on them. Consequently, my deductions are as follow.1,Some of stratum growing slight and slight-moderate Karst rocky desertfication which are Lower Carboniferous system Datang formation and Baizuo formation,Lower triassie system Zhenning formation and Anshun formation,Miocene triassic system Guanling formation; Some of stratum growing moderate or intense Karst rocky desertfication which are Upper Carboniferous system Huanglong formation,Miocene Permian system Maokou formation and Lower triassic system Feixianguan formation; Some of stratum growing intense Karst rocky desertfication which are Miocene triassic system Yangliujin formation,Poduan stratum and Longtou formation.2,Some of stratum rock growing slight and slight-moderate Karst rocky desertfication are which of nature of rock compounding. That are carbonate which includes interlayer. Interlayer are vary content of pelitic carbonate or argillaceous rock. As it have some pelitic component,some hard corrosion mass (SiO2+ AlO3+ Fe2O3+ FeO) or silicate mineral resolution are soil parent material origin. By weathering,that mass change into different thickness soil horizon. In intense Karst rocky desertfication area, stratum rock are almost purity limestone which not have soil parent material origin——pelitic component.so it do not change into soil horizon. Purity limestone corrosion characteristic are planar corrosion. Corrosion speed is rapid,because rock destroying and rock-water function spend long time at joint and fissure in weathering front. Weathering front have karren,solution groove along joint and fissure after corrosion. So fixed moisture ability are bad. Grade of Karst rocky desertfication is intense.3,Stratum of sedimentary environment are bank seamarsh facies,localization platform facies and inshore or shallow water sedimentary area in widen platform facies which are easy to grow slight Karst rocky desertfication. Stratum of sedimentary environment are widen platform facies which are easy to grow moderate Karst rocky desertfication; Stratum of sedimentary environment are platform border facies and platform border brae facies are easy to grow intense Karst rocky desertfication.4,In allusion to character of parent rock petrology affecting Karst rocky desertfication, the suggestions in Karst rocky desertfication prevention are put forward.
