Nowadays network attack has become increasingly rampant. IP Trace-Back Technology is a powerful tool to defend Macro network attack, which can track out network attack path from source to destination. Based on IP path information, network experts can study the attack mode, make up the systems leak, and make an emergent response. Generally, only network professionals understood IP attack path information. Those attribute data were scattered and chaotic, couldn't be managed and used effectively, seriously reduced the application scope of IP Trace-Back Technology. So it is urgent to find a more visual and effective way that can be used by common user. Geographic Information System (GIS) is a visualization way that combines Computer Graphics with Database technology, integrates attribute data with its corresponding geography spatial position. With the development and popularization of Web technology, the function of GIS is expanded, and then Internet Geographic Information System (WebGIS) comes into being and becomes the mainstream during the development and application of GIS. This paper focuses on how to effectively display and manage the IP attack path information with WebGIS.This paper mainly studies how to design a cross-platform, strong-expansibility and high-performance IP Attack-Back Geographic Path WebGIS System under the MapXtreme for Java platform. Firstly, the paper expatiates on correlative technology of WebGIS, and makes deeper research on how to use Web Services technology to develop WebGIS. Secondly, based on the comparative analysis on each Web disposition patterns, this paper designs the thin client multi-layer pattern system construction according to the character and need of IP attack path. Thirdly, it thoroughly discusses key technologies of the client and service level, realizes a system application instance. Finally, this paper summarizes the whole work, and points out the later work.
