The research mainly focuses on the cognitive process of ill-structured physics problem-solving. It is well based on problem-solving and other related theories which have been fruitful and have gained much recognition in Cognitive Psychology domain. Meanwhile, Cognitive Flexibility Theory, which stands in the bodies of modern constructivism, provides an important theoretical support. The research is developed by the aspects as followed. Firstly, we have summarized the development of problem solving theory and the researches in cognitive process of this field by analyzing literatures about problem-solving in the past half century. Secondly, we have defined the ill-structured physics problem and have established a cognitive model of this kind of problem-solving in theory based on the previous work. Finally, we have investigated the internal connection between science inquiring and ill-structured physics problem-solving and have interpreted some cases by using this model. The value of the research is that it is a research about cognitive process in ill-structured physics problem-solving domain. Cognitive Flexibility Theory and problem-solving theory are well syncretized here. It is also a systematical research of ill-structured problem-solving in physics subject. Subsequently, as a result of attempt, the research needs to deepen continuously.
