| With the development of Geographical Information System (GIS) and Internet, GIS has been used in many fields. More and more information should be operated in different softwares and hardwares and be published on web. It is a critical requirement on GIS development that current GIS systems should be interactive, interoperable and data sharing.The web service-oriented application and integration of system will be the prevailing technologies for the use of Internet. The import of web service to GIS field can solve the difficulties which GIS has encountered for some years in interoperating. And it is easy for GIS to be used and intergrated in other systems, which should widen the application of GIS. It is believed that the Web Service-oriented GIS component will be applied in various fields and will be an important way in extending the GIS application.With some research carried out to the current technologies of Web GIS and network, systematic conclusion and compare on the present GIS systems and the analysis for the system and processing of the Web Service technology, a Web Service-oriented GIS component has been tried to be developed, whose service has been applied and integrated for the various clients. And the development and application of such GIS component have been experimented.In the first chapter, preface, the conception, characteristics principle and advantage of the Web Service have been introduced firstly. Secondly, a concept has been brought forward, which is to integrate the Web Service and GIS and develop a Web Service-oriented GIS module. Thirdly, the design of the structure and the system of such module is given. Finally, the actuality of this research and the research work of this thesis have been introduced.The second chapter details the design and development of the Web Service-oriented GIS component. It introduced the method that how to develop the MapImageService based on existed GIS server. And it details the development of the series of products, including paims, mapengine, mapcontrol in .net environment after comparing the tools and languages.The third chapter details the application and realization of the Web Service-oriented GIS component. It introduced the methods of using the MapImageService at various clients. At last, a practical application example has been put forward to demonstrate its feasibility and illustrate the result to the user.The last section of this thesis is the conclusion and the expectation. The MapImageService has been estimated. And some technology problems need instant solution have been put formard. |
