Baoying County Of Gis Supported Land Use Patterns

Land is the base of mankind existence, and the material base of society development. With the growth of population, the contradiction between the people and the land has become more serious day by day. How to utilize the limited land rationally is an important issue for regional sustainable development. In order to understand land use, the study on the land use is necessary which is important for adjusting land use structure, utilizing the land resource rationally. Also, it is an important implementing for dynamic monitoring land use and controlling it effectively.Combining regional characteristics of Baoying County, Jiangsu Province, the author worked on the land use characteristics of this area such as land use and its spatial distribution using landscape ecology theory, position theory, sustainable development theory and GIS technology. The main purpose is to find out the proper way for regional land use and sustainable development, and to offer scientific supports for the optimization of land use.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:1. Theory and methodology of land use structureThe research on land use structure sprang up in China not long before, yet there is not a ripe theoretical system. Based on relevant theories, such as landscape ecology view, position theory and sustainable development theory, and with GIS technology, the study on regional land use structural is carried on .2. Combined, spatial and quantity structure of the land useAccording to Baoying County's 2001 aerial survey data, the author adopts a series of indexes for analysis. The results indicate that cultivated land is the main land use type in this area and its space distribution is more centralized. The difference of land's concentration degree in every township is relatively obvious. Generally speaking, the land's concentration degrees of Shuisi, Caodian, Xi'anfeng and Sheyang are highest because these townships have wide water areas. But in those townships, such as Yanhe, Huangqi, Xiaji, Liubao, Shanyang, and Sishui township, where ditches distribute abroad and the Grant Canal runsthrough, the land's concentration degrees are lower.3. Land use situation analysisUsing GIS technology and landscape ecology theory, the research shows that: 1) The contradiction between the people and the land is sharp day by day; 2) The land quality reduces, and the water and soil suffers from pollution, so the ecological environment worse progressively; 3) The utilization of water resources is insufficient; 4) The scientific and technological content of agricultural production is low, and the agricultural modernization level is not so high; The proportions of forest land, field and herb is small.4. Sustainable land use and its measuresIn the study area the rational or sustainable use of land resources should be based on the land structure of the region. The concrete measure for realizing rational and sustainable land use are follows: 1) To adjust measures to local conditions and improve the productivity of land; 2) To increase the green coverage of the whole county and protect ecological environment; 3) To use water resources rationally and develop sideline production energetically, such as aquaculture, etc.; 4)To increase the input in education of science and technology, and implement" prospering the agriculture with science and education".
