Popper Understand The Theoretical Understanding

Popper's understanding theory is not only the entry to understand his whole philosophical thoughts, but also a good try to extend hermeneutics' scope of application. What's more, it offers an effective way for the conversation and blending of the two western philosophical trend of thought.Firstly, Popper's understanding theory is based on his thought of philosophy of science. On one hand, the theory of three worlds is his understanding theory's ontological premise. On the other hand, the standard of demarcation is the basis of Popper's understanding theory. Moreover, both understanding and science findings have developed according to the model: Pi-TT-EE-P2 The model of understanding and the model of science findings have the same structure.Secondly, being aimed at Dilthey's methodology hermeneutics, Popper puts forward his understanding theory, whose premise is Dilthey's methodology hermeneutics. Dilthey's methodology hermeneutics classifies understanding and interpretation to the humanities and natural science, and thinks them opposite to each other, therefore, he tries to defend the humanities' independence and validity. But Popper's understanding theory believes understanding not only suits to the humanities but also to natural science, and the understandings of the humanities and natural science have the same nature. Thus we can see that Popper's understanding theory is opposite to Dilthey's methodology hermeneutics in essence. This opposite relation is not only the opposite relation of natural scientific method and the humanities method, but also the opposite relation of scientificism and humanism.Lastly, Popper's understanding theory and philosophical hermeneutics have the same characteristics, but at the same time they are different from each other in some aspects. On one hand, the anticipation emphasized by Popper and the pre-understanding structure emphasized by philosophical hermeneutics have the same starting-point. On the other hand, Popper's condition analysis and objective understanding logic provide a new thinking for understanding's objectivity. Moreover, when introspecting traditional theory of knowledge, both of them have identical attitude and different views.
