Photogrammetric satel1ite usually adopts the close earth and nearly round orbit. Whenthe sectiona1 area of the satelIite is relatively small, the irregular shape and the asymmetricinner density of the earth are the main factors of the perturbation. The biggest perturbationis caused by the earth's oblateness, which is up to the magnitude of l0-', the effects of therest perturbations is usualIy not bigger than l0-6 magnitude. According to the first orderperturbation potential functions which is associated with earth's oblateness, this paPerderived and analyzed the first order and long-term variation rate of the orbit elements. lnview of the earth's oblateness perturbation described above, a method of se1ecting anddeciding the launching window of satel1ites is proposed according to the demands of thephotogrammetric satellite fOr the solar iIlumination and the deviation angle of the starcamera to the sun and the moon at the time of exposure. In addition, based on the featuresof the nearly-round orbit satel1ite, a fast and practica1 algorithm of ground trackscalcu1ating is proposed. Based on this, using the satelIite tool kit STK, the precision of thealgorithm is evaluated. Finally using the emulation function of STK, the fiight of thesate1lite is simulated and the analysis function for the satellite's coverage caPabi1ity isimplemented. Consequently the dependable reference for satellite project is provided.
