All countries in the world are paying more and more attention to global change. Energysources, water, food and health, etc, are closely related to global change. They are some of the mostpressing problems facing us in the new century Under global change, human society how to adapt to thepossibIe environmental change and how to make effective use of varied environment in the future seemparticularly important.Global change has regional diversity. It is of far-reaching significance to cany out regionalenvironment, research for regional economic development and even for the sustainable developmentstrategies. Qinling Mountains is the environment demarcation Iine between the north and the south of ourcounty it wiIl obviously has typical characteristics to make a study of the north and south of QinlingMountains.Under global change, does Qinling Mountains still play the role of climate demarcation line andwhat's its' Environment change? Guanzhong and Shannan, which lie on the border of monsoon zone, aresensitizing ranges to global change. As a result, studying of climate response to global change in both ofthese areas is of great importance to help know about monsoon change.ln an attempt to find out the response of climate change to global change on both side of QinlingMountains, we made a study on climate change in Guanzhong and Shannan. The study was going onunder the background of gIobal change by comparing the variation characteristics of mean annual airtemperature and mean annual precipitation and by comparing air temperature and precipitation of everyseason over the areas. At the same time, the trend, period of air temperature and precipitation over theareas and mutability of climate change were anaIyzed by using records of air temperature and precipitation from Xi'an and Hanzhong observatories. The records have a much longer time series. Furthermore, we made a simulation forecast on precipitation over Guanzhong by using time series patterns. Finally, thepaper compared the occurrences of disaster over both areas under global change.
