Mohist Scientific Thought

Mojia was among the most prominent school in the period of spring and autumn in Chinese history. Especially, they came to a head in scientific.thought. This paper is a disquisition on their scientific thought. Through thorough study, I came to a conclusion that:1)their scientific activity was aimed to find what the nature originally is ,which was the basic aim. But fundamentally, what they did was to enlarge material wealth and develop a perfect regime. They were Benthamite.2)They affirmed that it is man who develop scientific activity. Man have sense organ is the precondition of all activity. On the other hand ,man can exert knowledge to improve the ability of produce.3)Their most achievement is they treated the nature as nature, which has its own circulate rule, which is independent of man's thought. Their standpoint about space-time ~. movement of everything on earth was progressive in that time and goes so far as to enlighten the present age. Besides, their findings in idiographic subject, such as physicsmathematics and logic was also mighty works.4)They paid much attention to chose effective ways and means to approach all problem. They were the first one in Chinese history who put forward criterion to check up what they talk and do. Further more ,Mojia took full advantage of observing~ experiment. induction and so on.All in all ,Mojia's scientific thought is simply materialism. We should value this precious heritage.
