NuJiang drainage area has a scurviness geological environment,which frequent occurrence a variety of geological disasters. So far, geological environment has gradually become a major factor that restricted the local socio-economic development. Remote sensing technology (RS) has the advantages of abundant information, strong macroscopic and good timeliness that can not compared with the traditional means in the investigation and evaluation of geological hazard.This article's works mainly about synthesize analysised the remote sensing characteristic, established the interpretation sings of the geological hazards and their impact factors, then identified the development of geological hazards, the characterict of distribution,and influencing factors of the Lushui area in Nu river drainage area by adopt some technology means, such as use the Spot images as the main data sources, supplement high-resolution Ikonos images at important sections, and closely combined the remote sensing interpretation with the field verification and so on.The main results achieved of the paper in the following areas:1. Preprocessing of the remote sensing images,such as correction the geometric and Ortho-remote sensing images, enhancement of the images color, and the remote sensing data merge and so on, All of these works mainly to increase the interpretation available of the geological hazards and the factors that results of the geological disasters.2. The DEM data is produced by extracting contour lines from the topographic map at the scale 1:50000, and then slope and aspect factor is extracted on the ArcGIS platform, which is acted as an important factor of geologic hazards. Finally, the works and the impact of efforts geologic hazards are analyzed.3. After synthetically analyzing RS images and repeating validating in the field, the interpretation signs of geologic hazards about collapse, landslide, debris flow and unstable slope is established and interpreted, it which include size, color, texture, shape, etc. and then interpret the various types of geological disasters.4. According to the results of the stratum lithology, fault, hydrogeological conditions, engineering geologic formation, rainfall,vegetation, and human's engineering activities et al to establish the relative interpretation signs, meantime analysis the impact of these factors to the development of geological disasters. 5. Basic identified the characteristics of the distribution and development in the Lushui area, and the relationship with the geological environment and factors.
