As an important land use type, cultivated land is the sources of human's food and clothes and it is also the important material foundation for human's survival and development. Cultivated 1 and use change and protection have become the important components of land-use/land-cover change. Strengthening the research of cultivated land use change and analyzing the driving factors which affect changes of cultivated land use are of great benefit to use the arable land reasonably. Meanwhile these will ensure the regional food security and help advance the development of a harmonious society.Chosing one of the oil and grain bases-Jinning County as the research object, this paper carries out a dynamic study on the cultivated land use change and driving forces in Jinning County during the period of 1996~2005. based on the data of detailed land-use and the social-Economic statistics from 1996 to 2005. The research shows:(1)From 1996 to 2005, the cultivated land in Jinning County decreased from 32702.76hm2 to 19097.22hm2. with a net reduction of 13605.54hm2,showing a gradually decreasing trend. Changes in the farmland of the county regional differences are significant, average annual change rate of arable land is the biggest shuanghe village, the smallest village is shangsuan village. The way of reduction of arable land is occupied by construction, ecological restoration and natural disasters destroyed, agricultural land is not obvious reduction of structural adjustment.(2)There are not only natural factors that drive the cultivated land usechange. but the social and economic factors are more important. With SPSS statistical software, the study has analyzed the social-Economic driving factors which impact cultivated land use change of Jinning County through factor analysis. The main social and economic driving factors that affect cultivated land use change are population growth, social and economic development, structural readjustment in agriculture, national policies. Then we apply the multivariate linear regression to these main factors and get the cultivated 1 and driving forces linear regression model.(3) Using ArcGIS software overlay analysis and spatial analysis to explore the expansion of construction land Jinning County in the future use of cultivated land in the premise is not suitable for expanding the regional scope of construction land; Finally, Plants crops the change in view of Jinning County the actuation mechanism, proposed the protection farmland countermeasure, uses and protects the farmland for the reasonable development, the promotion economic society continues the coordinated development to provide the basis. This text innovation:Policy factors will be quantified, the introduction of the driving forces of cultivated land change, while policies for the protection factor, while socio-economic factors and population factors into the context of driving forces, and the relationship between the various elements of the analysis, which for the cultivated land area academic research has an important reference.
