In a complex competitive environment, to be invincible in the competition, enterprises must form and improve their core competence continually. However, most Chinese enterprises lack of the core competences at present. As a new management idea, Knowledge Management is an important means to help enterprises improve their core competences. Currently, most enterprises do not know how to implement Knowledge Management,so this study analyzes the relationship between knowledge management and core competence, and builds a Knowledge Management System which can improve the core competence of enterprises.This study is based the theory of core competence and that of knowledge management. Firstly, from the perspective of knowledge, this study analyzes the concept of core competence, the character of core competence, the composition of core competence, the level of core competence and other characteristics, then argues that knowledge is the essence of core competitiveness. Knowledge Value Chain is an abstract of a complete knowledge management model. Therefore, this study analyzes the relationship between the knowledge value chain and the core competences of enterprises. Drawing on the theories and methods of system engineering, through system analysis, design and implement, propose the knowledge management system to general and enhance the core knowledge competency of corporation. The building of Knowledge Management System is not only develop technology platform, but also implement knowledge of strategies, shape corporate culture, change organizational structure, leadership attention and support. Finally, this study illustrates the steps of how to implement the knowledge management system by Case Study.
