Comparative Research On Economic Ethics Between Jin Merchant And Huizhou Merchant

Existing in China's business circles from Ming Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, Shanxi merchants and Huizhou merchants has left a glorious history. Shanxi merchants started in the early Ming Dynasty, have rapid development in the latter part of Ming Dynasty, until early Qing Dynasty that go to the peak and created the innumerable commercial legends.Huizhou merchants, as the most famous businessman in Ming and Qing Dynasties, proliferate in China. From the period of Jiajing to Qianlong,Jiaqing, they reached their golden age. During a long period of a regular course of business,Jin and Huizhou merchants inherited rich commercial experience and excellent traditional moral thought. On the base, they developed a moral ethics which in keeping with their own commercial activity which not only make them successful but also have important implications for today's market economy.For the above-mentioned considerations, and based on the principals of historical materialists methods, this article trying to find similarities and differences from the analysis and comparison of the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants, which will of great significance to enrich and complete the research of Jin and Huizhou merchants and obviously for harmonizing social developments, is still kind of spirit resources.This thesis is divided into five parts combing and giving comparative analysis on the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants.Part one outlined the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants that refers to the ethnical principles which had been gradually formed in practice of their commercial activities that guide and restrict their behaviors in their commercial activities, distinguish between right and wrong, and the Historical Evolution of them are the same.Part two reaches the conclusion that the formation condition of the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants were all influenced by natural environment,region culture and the development of business, from the angle of comparative.Part three analyzes the content of the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants that include five viewpoints:the good faith viewpoint; the righteousness viewpoint;the responsibility viewpoint;the Confucianism viewpoint; the competition viewpoint. And their economic ethics ideas are not only sameness in commercial ethics, commercial spirit, political attitude, patriotism but also differentia in value orientation,occupational attitude, social responsibility.Part four analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants so that find an economic ethics which suit for contemporary market economy and if possible it can be used for references by modern merchants.In sum, the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants left many cultural heritage. In order to have special reference to the building of market economy and the development of enterprises, we should use the scientific attitude to treat the economic ethics of Jin and Huizhou merchants and inherit the outstanding achievements of the economic ethics of the two.This article covers the conclusion as follows:"honest and credibility", "righteousness Corresponding to profit", "loving homeland and people", "Confucianism integrates business","orderly competition".
