As the Chinese securities market developing, the automotive industry has become the common attention of companies securities investors, government regulators, securities analysts and employees issues. How to scientifically and reasonably evaluating the performance of companies in the automotive industry has become a hot issues of Investment Theory and Practice. With the sustainable development of national economy and steady and rapid growth of urban-rural income, automotive industry has been the pillar industry both in the developed and developing countries, and the tile object, even more the darling of the investors.The paper first analyzes the advantage and present situation, explains the basis of the selected samplings, than introduces the present situation of comprehensive evaluation of listed company domestic and abroad and projection pursuit model. The paper selects 21 listed companies in automotive industry, using factor analysis and projection pursuit mode to comprehensive evaluate them, so fined a new effected method, then comparing the results between 2005 and 2008 to find the suitable objects to invest. Through analyzing the paper finds that there is a high correlation between the two methods, so we can boldly suggested two methods used in the automotive industry are suitable for comprehensive evaluation of listed companies.The innovation of this paper is combining projection pursuit model and factor analysis model to comprehensive evaluate 21 listed companies in the automotive industry, avoiding the limitations only using one kind of model brought, and comparing analysis were two years of comprehensive evaluation of the results two years of comprehensive evaluation of the results, supporting effective and reasonable theory for investors making right decisions.
