With the advent of globalization and knowledge-based economy, state-owned enterprises(SOEs) in China are facing unprecedented challenges. The continuous development largely depends on whether the enterprises can achieve lasting innovative capability. The backbone to carry out the innovation is those staff with strong learning ability and innovative capability. In order to enjoy market supremacy in the intense competition, the enterprises must set up a suitable organizational learning strategy and raise the level of organizational commitment. However, the study for the relationship between organizational learning and organizational commitment can rarely be found currently.The current study is designed to describe and examine the effects of organizational learning on organizational commitment in SOEs. A total of 251 employees in SOEs took part in this study. The collected data were computed and analyzed via descriptive statistics,reliability analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and structural equation model analysis. The findings of the study were generalized as follows:Firstly, the overall organizational learning and employee's organizational commitment in SOEs in China are both above average. The commitment to learning and continuance commitment are at the highest degree; Secondly, significant differences existing in organizational learning relate to employee's age, position; thirdly, significant differences exist in organizational commitment relate to employee's gender, position; Moreover, organizational learning is significantly related to organizational commitment. There's significant relationship between part dimensions of organizational learning and organizational commitment. The research findings are especially relevant for the SOEs in China, and this study reveals the relationship between organizational learning and organizational commitment in SOEs,which would enrich the related theoretical system and play an important role in guiding the construction of learning organization and the development of talent strategy.Though this study is innovative in terms of the above mentioned aspects, it is not without its limitations, overcome of which should be the directions of future studies.
