Considering today's competitive retail environment and the need forshorter product lifecycles, the enterprises must pursue own value to growlyfor the sake of surviving, developing and expanding. The persistent growthof value must be realized by constantly and quickly developing the new productthat can satisfy consumer demands. Design Management and ProcessManagement is a critical and appropriate method for companies to identifyproduct development resources that can truly shorten the development processand enhance the quality of the product innovation.Design Management (named DM briefly) is to define the problems andtargets of design and look for the very designers .Then we can make use ofplanning, organizing, directing and controlling to integrate, moderate or communicatethe resources that needed while designing and to find the mostsuitable solution .And we will realize the pre‐arranged purpose and solve problemsavailably in time in the decided budget by the management of designstrategy and design activity.Generally speaking,design management includes two levels of structures,design management strategy and the management of actual design works.Design management strategy is to regard design as one important part inthe operation of business enterprise,then absorb the corresponding ideas inthe various activities of whole business enterprise and give correspondingprogramming and leading .The management of actual design works can insurethe business enterprise having a good runned effectively design section which will conduct the design actions and put concrete design mission intopracticeProcess is called "work flow process" for short, which requires anumber of departments and posts involved and support these sectors, therewill be between the posts to undertake the work and flow, so flow can bedescribed as "cross‐sectoral, Cross‐post work flow process. "To manage the enterprise with a process, there will be a positive impacton the enterprise and significant meaning, specifically, it reflects on twoaspects, namely, to improve their overall competitiveness and corporateform changes. Process design and process reengineering are the importantmeasures to be against its competitors for the enterprise to improveoperational efficiency and economic efficiency. It is also an important step inenterprise development strategy. When enterprises are in theimplementation of a process oriented management, their function will bechange from the traditional form into process‐centric businessprocess‐oriented. This business approach will help them to achievefundamental changes in management. This shift can make them to changemanagement way according to its development in time when the market hasgreat changes, which helps the enterprise always grasp the change initiative,invincible in the fierce market competition.This paper describes the basic knowledge of the design management andprocess management. Then it focuses on process management of generalproducts and heavy equipment. Finally, I am actually involved in the case ofa product design to explore the practical application of process managementproblems in the process and put forward some suggestions to solve the problem.
