The followers are to be a significant factor in the leading activities. In leaders'practice process, followers and leaders together constitute the main body and they both run through the whole course of the leading activities. The followers'character traits, abilities to follow the leaders, value concept, potential power, and the various relationships with the leaders have great influence on the leaders, the leadership and the leading efficiency. Only if leaders have deeply understanding of followers'importance and recognition leaders'following responsibilities in leading activities, can they choose their leadership style according to the maturation of their followers, and continuously improve leading capacity, leading efficiency in the process of interdependent and mutual promotion with followers, thus promote the smooth development of leading activities, finally complete the leadership goal and achieve the common vision.1. Interpretation of followers'connotation and type. The conduct of following is shared by leaders and followers whose role can be interchangeable in leading activities. The followers such as "exemplary followers", "Exceptional followers", "partner", "Great benevolence subordinates", will have a positive influence on the organizational performance and leading activities and make a valuable contribution to the organization. In modern leadership environment, the followers and the leaders'relationship have shown new features, such as equality, relativity, interaction, constraints and so on. Among hierarchical relations, trade relations, following relations, and partnership relations, an equal partnership is the common pursuit of followers and leaders.2. Important content of research of followers. Leaders and followers should not only fully understand the importance of followers in leading activities, but also focus on research at the unity and contradictions relationship between them. Leaders'following responsibilities in modern organizations are particularly important. The behavior to follow is a necessary ability as a successful leader. 3. Expansion of research areas of followers. First of all, we need to explore some basic characteristics, which followers should have, such as trust, loyalty, initiative, dedication and so on. Second, we should analyze the main reason of a leader implementing the following functions and its content, that is, following the visions and objectives of the organization, following the applicable management principles, following the members who can achieve these objectives. Third, the leaders must follow certain principles if they want to win more followers, not only with the clear understanding of how to shape followers'motives, how to change the attitudes to their followers, how to stimulate the enthusiasm of their followers and how to grasp distance moderately with their followers, etc., but the followers should promote their maturity continuously in order to full support the leaders.4. Interpretation of followers in the aspect of politics. The essence of following is to follow the public opinion, to be people-oriented, fully to protect the rights of the people, and is to strengthen the civil rights and participation consciousness and to promote democracy construction. As an important means of building harmony, following will improve the level of democracy and build a harmonious society.In short, in an efficient premise of following, followers will constantly grow into successful leaders, achieve the purpose of improving the efficiency of leading activities, and ultimately achieve the value of following at a higher level. Attention to followers and the following issues has important significances, which not only allows us to clear follower's connotation and its important role in the leading activities in the theory, but would also serve to guide the leading practice, improve the leading efficiency and the organizational performance.
