With the domestic property insurance market continues to mature, more and more small and medium property insurance companies enter the market and gradually became the main competitors, they seize market share through a variety of competitive strategy. However, the current property insurance market, produced a higher concentration of business structure, focusing on certain types of insurance, such as car insurance, the products and services tend to homogenization, which will affect China's property insurance industry in sustainable development. About the small and medium insurance companies, we must first solve the problem is to change the current business strategies, to implement of effective differentiation strategies, to achieve sustainable development.Article according to Porter's competitive theory, the paper theoretically demonstrates that the small and medium property insurance companies'rational choice is to implement of effective differentiation strategies at present; According to foreign small and medium property insurance companies to implement differentiated practical experiences, from practice to get some enlightenment, this provided some new value-oriented business ideas for the implementation of China's small and medium property insurance companies. According to Porter's value chain model of competition theory, combined with the special nature of the insurance industry, this paper constructs a product-centric value chain model of small and medium insurance companies, takes this value chain model as the basis for the implementation of different operations. From products and marketing two core areas, the paper offered different operations effective approaches for China's small and medium insurance companies.Full-text includes the Introduction and four elements. According to Porter's Theory of the product-centric value chain model, with three levels of insurance products, from the property and casualty insurance products, the paper explored implementation of product differentiation strategies; the paper also explored implementation of differences in marketing strategy for small and medium insurance companies, because the company itself should be combined with advantages and establish the characteristics of the brand through specialty product.In reference to the relevant literature, inspired by the careful guidance of the teacher, this paper has the following innovations points:(1) According to China's reality, there is an initial exploration for the small and medium property insurance companies'definition;(2) Combined with Porter's theory of the value chain model and the characteristics of insurance companies, the paper constructed a value chain model for small and medium with products and marketing as the core links, according to this basic idea, the paper took the difference implementation of Operation for the small and medium property insurance companies.(3) From the perspective of the theory of product-level, the paper analyzed the different products operating strategies which small and medium property insurance companies can take.Of course, since I have little talent and less learning, it is inevitable in some places there are to be improved, overall, there are several parts of this article need further study:(1) About the differences between insurance products and other common commodities, I need to take some further studies to ensure the selection of the theoretical basis and practical implementation strategies;(2) About Porter's competitive theory, I have to have a further in-depth study in order to ensure the use of the guiding role of theory, to make a more comprehensive and concrete plans; (3) In the course of recommending the differentiation strategies for the small and medium property insurance companies, I only pay close attention of the insurance companies'operating value chain in several core areas. In fact, we can explore more differentiation strategies in other areas.(4) The paper is lack of specific examples analysis of China's current small and medium property insurance companies.
