In recent decade, chain industry is one of the fastest growing industries in china and chain supermarkets have taken over the half of the industry. With China's retail industry fully liberalization and further competition, chain supermarket enterprises began to practice the concept of category management to meet increasing competition. In addition, facing the development tendency of global competition intense day by day, how chain supermarket enterprises of our country construct the science reasonable index system and adopt science method to evaluate supplier appears especially important and significant regarding enterprise's long term development.The research aim of this paper is to set up a set of integrated evaluation index system and design appropriate evaluation methods through summarizing the research fruit of international supplier evaluation and systematically analysing the supplier evaluation methods and supplier evaluation index system.It can be said that this article makes a systematic analysis about the problem of supplier evaluation.Firstly, this topics introduces some theory knowledge of category management and its implementation condition in chain supermarket. Secondly, based on the analysis of traditional evaluation index system, the paper builds a multi-level evaluation index system which contains 4 first-level indicators,9 secondary-level indicators and 30 third-level indicators. Thirdly, on the choice of evaluation methods, this paper does a research of several major comparative analysis of existing methods of evaluation, integrates the advantage of Analytical Hierarchy Process, Entropy Method and Grey Correlation Analysis theory, then constructs a comprehensive multi-level assessment model and makes an introduction of the supplier evaluation steps. At last, the paper demonstrates rationality about evaluation index system, practicability and maneuverability about evaluation model through taking an example of H chain supermarket.
