Along with the rapid development of urbanization and industrialization, urban and rural construction land expand continuously, the limited arable land resources reduce faster, Food security is seriously threatened. How to achieve harmonious development of man-land relationship become important issues related to human survival and development. Study at home and abroad prove the rural residential land consolidation plays an active role in the coordination of man-land relationship, achieving optimal allocation of land resources, improving the rural ecological environment and accelerating the urbanization.This thesis takes Wugong County in Shaanxi Province as an example, uses empirical analysis, qualitative and quantitative method to conduct an empirical study of rural residential land consolidation, the contents and main conclusions are as follows:1. Analysis and studies the current status of the rural residential in Wugong County, finding the following issues: Space is "small, scattered, chaotic" pattern, efficiency of construction land settlements is low, the village build densely, the building-level is low and poor-quality, the living condition is poor. Government blind expropriations cause waste. Settlements "hollowing out" and the land idle are in serious condition.2. According to the issues in the rural residential of Wugong County, this thesis evaluates in the potential endogenous indicators (including land factors) and exogenous potential indicators (including natural ecological factors, economic factors and social factors), and establishes the potential evaluation index system of rural residential land consolidation in Wugong County. The potential classification is got by combining principal component analysis and hierarchical cluster analysis method. Wugong County is got in extremely poor law amendment, also thesis made mode for the regional arrangement.3. Project flow charts of rural settlements have guiding significance to the development of land consolidation measures, therefore, this thesis studies the rural residential land consolidation measures from the macro-and microeconomic aspects in accordance with flow chart and the corresponding guiding plans are put forward.4. In order to carry out the work of rural residential land consolidation, this thesis analyses the regional effects from economic, social, ecological and equivalent replacement between rural and urban construction land. Specifically including: Effects of rural residential land consolidation in rural industrial structure adjustment; Effects of rural residential land consolidation in promoting employment growth of the rural labor force; Effects of rural residential land consolidation in improving growth income levels and living standards of rural residents; Ecological effects of rural settlements land consolidation; Effects of rural residential land consolidation in the equivalent displacement between reduction in rural areas and increase urban construction land construction.
