Research On Room Area Design Of High-star Hotels In Guangdong District

With rapid economic development and the successful bid to host the 2010 Asian Games, high-star hotels have sprung up all over the Guangdong area. Hyatt, Accor and other famous hotel brands have also settled down in Guangdong Province, forming a thriving growth situation of Guangdong hotel industry. Along with the rapid development of hotel design practices, hospitality design conception in Guangdong is lagging behind international hotel with the design requirements: all possible care. And this contradiction is highlighted increasingly, especially acute reflected to the main apartment in the hotel room area. And now it is essential to sum up the related design theory and design practice of hotel guest room in Guangdong area, in order to form a theoretical direction about the guest room design.As the general name of all the space of guest floors, the Guest Chambers is the most important area of the hotel building. In this thesis, firstly we analyze the general functional components of the hotel building and then the relationship between guest chambers functions and other features. We strive to enhance the understanding of the architectural design of the hotel; Secondly we point out all the specific function space, including transportation system, logistics service, the room and chamber ratio and corresponding equipments. Thereby to form a more comprehensive grasp of the guest chamber's design; Thirdly, the article studies every chamber as a single entity, make related descriptions of designation of each function space and the relevant set of technical facilities that make people more comfortable, with which we get a better understanding of the status and the design tendency of guest room. Last, based on some representative examples of design in Guangdong, we make a comparative analysis of national correlation standards, the assessment of national tourism star standards and international hotel design guide lines, generalize the theoretical basis of hotel design in Guangdong district. As well describe and predict the trend of the high-star hotels'Room Area design in the end.
