Study On The Development Strategyof Changshu City's Open Economyin Context Of Internationalfinancial Crisis

Currently, profound changes are happening to the world economic pattern and the international financial crisis widely and deeply influence the world economy. World economy has entered a new period of adjustment and faced a new strategic transformation. Facing with severe challenge caused by the international financial crisis, Changshu, as a county-level city with developed open economy and under the period of transition, must carefully deal with sustaining economic growth and sustainable development, moderately adjust the development strategy of open economy based on staying firmly rooted in the present while looking ahead to the future and addressing both the symptoms and root causes.This thesis firstly analyses the history evolution of open economy concepts, compares scholars'different discuss of the concepts, and proposes the new connoation of open economy under the new vision that now china has completely opened up and became an integrated component of global economy. Then on the basis of the open economy concept, it compares the differences between the open economy, closed economy and export-oriented economy, and summarizes the key features of open economy in new phase. Meanwhile, it confines the concept of open economic development strategy and systematically cardings and formulates different kinds of theories on open economic development strategy such as Looking Inward Theory, Looking Outward Theory, Comprehensive Strategy Theory and other open strategy theories.Besides,this thesis reviews basic theories of business cycle.This thesis reviews the process of the international financial crisis briefly .Based on theories of business cycle, this thesis analyses the essential reasons to the financial crisis. The financial crisis originates in the subprime lending crisis of USA. Essentially, the financial crisis is an irrevocable return of the seriously imbalanced business cycle which is deliberately prolonged by governments'related polices.The international financial crisis resulted in the sharp slowdown of world economy and recession of global economy, and deep influence on world trade and international capital flows. It also led to a great impact on the foreign trade, utilization of foreign capital and going global of our country as well as the open economy in Changshu.Then it further describes the basic information of Changshu's open economy, analyses the development status of Changshu's open economy from both of time series and structure features and summarizes key problems existed. Since the reform and opening up, Changshu has actively promoted the internal and external opening, which leads to the continuous increase of foreign trade, enlarging of utilization of foreign capital and obvious effect of going global strategy. Open economy shows an excellent trend of all-dimensional, multitiered and wide-ranging development, and becomes a major propelling force to Changshu's national economy and social development. Meanwhile, some long-accumulated contradictions and problems such as irrational industrial structure, low industrial level, etc. and the status at the low end of global value chains become more and more apparent.In the last this thesis puts forward some ideas about reconstruction of Changshu's open economy development strategy. We'll redouble our efforts to recruit foreign investment to improve the performance of foreign investment; change the mode of grow to promote sustained, stable and healthy development of trade; seize the favorable opportunity to actively implement "going global" strategy; promote the common development of domestic and foreign companies to realize the fully integration of export-oriented economy and endogenous economy; accelerate the open economy and promote the supporting system construction to create an excellent development environment.
