A Study On The Transference Of The World Manufacturing Center And The Development Of Shanghai Advanced Manufacturing

Manufacturing industry is the material basis of the national economy and the industrialization of the main industries as well as the society development. With the rapid development of technology, the modern manufacturing industry is highly developed. The manufacturing industrialization also reflects a country's comprehensive strength. The 21st century, with the profound global cooperation, the world resource relocates and the global manufacturing industry has undergone great changes. Since China's reform and opening up, due to foreign direct investment and Chinese its own advantage, manufacturing sector has developed rapidly. China's manufacturing industry was once thought to have become the fourth "world's manufacturing center" after United Kingdom, United States, Japan. However, whether China can become a true "world's manufacturing center" needs further analyze deeply from the world's manufacturing center migration rules such as its development, evolution and transfer mechanism.The world's manufacturing center emerges after the manufacturing industrial technology revolution. After migration from British, American, Japan, the world's manufacturing center has been gradually transferred to developing countries like China. Foreign research institutes have two views about China's soaring:"the deterrence theory" and "the beneficially theory". Our domestic academic experts have also raised their own point of view. Some experts believe China has become the world's manufacturing center, while others think that China can not be called in the world manufacturing center. This author thinks the global manufacturing industry is undeniable transferring to China. As a consequence, Chins has indeed become a big manufacturing and trading country. However we also have to realize Chins can not be called real world manufacturing center because our manufacturing industry is only at the processing stage without much high technology. Any processing and manufacturing center just stay temporarily without backup technology. As for China, this processing and manufacturing center will transfer to other countries when China loses its low-cost advantage. Therefore, upgrading our industrial structure is imminent and urgent. Shanghai manufacturing industry especially the development of the advanced manufacturing industry is in leading position, so this paper aims to use Shanghai manufacturing industry as an example to analyze the manufacturing industry upgrading.The main structure of this paper:the 1st Chapter is the summary of domestic and foreign scholars and experts view on the transfer of world manufacturing center and whether China can become a world manufacturing center; the 2nd chapter analyzes the three transfer of global manufacturing center and also indicates the experiences we should learn; the 3rd chapter is the migration mechanism of world's manufacturing center transfer; and the 4th chapter explain why the world's manufacturing center is transferring to China and analyze Chinese manufacturing industry development status; fifth chapter is use the development of Shanghai as an example to analyze the manufacturing industry upgrading; the last chapter is to conclude the whole article.
