China-eu High-level Economic And Trade Dialogue In The Perspective Of The Path Of Peaceful Development

Following the Sino-US strategic and economic dialogue and the Sino-Japan high-level economic dialogue, China-EU economic and trade high-level dialogue is a strategic dialogue that China and another country or organization establish. The dialogue focuses on the strategic, long-term and planning issues between China-EU economy and trade.In the context of the financial crisis, China-EU economic and trade frictions highlight because of the European trade protectionism. Therefore, at the beginning of it, China-EU high-level economic and trade dialogue plays a vital role of strengthening communications, enhancing mutual trust, coordinating their economic and trade issues and conflicts, promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation, and working together to respond to the crises. This is the direct cause to establish the dialogue. However, what is the underlying cause to establish it? The dialogue is established according to the Chinese proposal, and then what is the starting point of China? In order to play a better and longer role of the dialogue, what theory can be used to guide it? In recent years, China has proposed an international strategy of the path of peaceful development. So what is the link between the path of peaceful development and China-EU economic and trade high-level dialogue?In order to properly handle trade frictions and other issues, the path of peaceful development requires China to establish as many levels cooperation with the developed capitalist countries as possible. It can gain time, resources and opportunities for the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics. On the other hand, in dealing with economic issues, the path of peaceful development follows the principles of peaceful cooperation, mutual benefit and common development. The structural contradictions and problems between the EU and China are trade deficit, market access, intellectual property protection, market economy status and anti-dumping and other issues. Therefore, they can't be completely solved in a short time and fully covered by the existing economic and trade dialogues. Thus, it is very necessary to establish a higher, longer-term and more strategic economic and trade dialogue mechanism. China-EU high-level economic and trade dialogue is the important strategic convergence between a dialogue mechanism in the EU-China Summit and the department bureau level economic dialogue mechanisms. For the EU-China Summit, the high-level economic dialogue can implement the common will of the EU and China leaders who commit to developing constructive and cooperative relations. For the lower-level economic and trade dialogues, the strategic economic dialogue with long-term nature provides strategic thinking, political guidance and motivation. On the basis of the analysis of the issues and results which the China-EU high-level economic and trade dialogue solved and achieved, I think the China-EU high-level economic and trade dialogue shows the principles of peaceful cooperation, mutual benefit and common development between China-EU economy and trade. It is consistent with the basic connotation of the path of peaceful development. In the guidance of the path of peaceful development, China-EU high-level economic and trade dialogue will be helpful to solve China-EU economic and trade problems and contradictions, to take care of each other's concerns and play its role in China-EU economic and trade cooperation in the process of its development.
