Research On The Evaluation Of Sustainable Land Use Of Yongcheng

Land is the carrier of human's survival and development, which is closely related to human. With the development of social economy and continued population growth, human demand for more land gradually. But the land is the limited and non-renewable resources, there is a conflict between land supply and land demand. The growing contradiction needs for sustainable land use urgently. Sustainable land use is an important part of the world's sustainable development strategy, sustainable land use issues have researched by scholars from different countries. The important means of judging whether the land use is sustainable in a country or region is to evaluate the utilization of land resources in the country or region. The evaluation of sustainable land use is the application of sustainable development in the field of land evaluation, and the core link of sustainable land use from theory to practice,from concept to actual operation. Therefore, the evaluation of sustainable land use is the key to sustainable land use issues, is also the important methods to achieve sustainable land use. Considering the importance of land resources evaluation, many scholars at home and abroad made the subject of study in different extent. Although the study on evaluation of sustainable land use has scored great achievements, the content and goals of sustainable land use are some different because of those scholars of different professional backgrounds, the study focus on largely theoretical exploration and evaluation system, and, most of the current study focuses on national and large regional scale of the strategic issues. So this paper selects Yongcheng, Shangqiu,Henan Province,which is a county-level city, to expand the evaluation of sustainable land use study to determine whether the land use of Yongcheng is in the sustainable use of the state.Based on the dependence of human society on natural resources, Ecological footprint model quantitatively evaluate the land use activities whether is within the ecological carrying capacity within a specific time and space, in order to determine land use in sustainable development, replaced human consumption of natural resources with the area of land space. Although the model has many deficiencies in practical application, it provides an important theoretical and methodological basis for the study on the evaluation of sustainable land use. In recent years, scholars have applied the ecological footprint model to sustainable land use evaluation, and have achieved some success. In this study, the introduction of ecological footprint model is used to assess the land use activities of Yongcheng city in 2008.At first this study describes the basic theory of sustainable land use, building the theoretical foundation for evaluation of sustainable land use of Yongcheng city, and summarizes researches on sustainable land use at home and abroad. By the guidance theory system, the natural and socio-economic conditions, utilization status and land use characteristics of Yongcheng land use are detailed analyzed. According local survey, the problems of land use in Yongcheng are designated. Then combined with the actual of Yongcheng, the method of ecological footprint is used to evaluate the land use situation in 2008. Based on the introduction of ecological footprint, some factors involved in evaluation of sustainable land use are elaborated. Under the support of the data the paper assess the Sustainability of land use of Yongcheng city in 2008. The results showed that: ecological footprint was 0.3408001 hm2 average in 2008, ecological surplus was 0.50948588 hm2 average, which shows that the land use of Yongcheng was in the sustainable state in 2008. According to the analysis of the evaluation process, the impact of factors in the computation process of ecological footprint is indicated such as demographic factors, consumer factors, land area factors. According to the analysis above, practical measures and proposals are put forward to achieve sustainable land use, and build the path of sustainable land use of Yongcheng city.
