In 2008, because of the global financial crisis, the salary of senior executive becomes the focus of public opinions. Domestic and foreign enterprises have taken many measures such as"layoff"and"salary reduction"to avoid the risk of enterprise performance falling and company failure. SASAC also released "salary limit order" for the financial industry,however, the salary of senior executive in a small part of cmpanies not only affected by the global financial crisis but increase a lot. Income distribution reform become the focus of the biggest issues again in the Two Sessions in March 2010.It shows that the salary of senior executive is a very sensitive issue. Construction industry is the pillar of national economy and play an important role in Promoting the economic development and social progress. As Managers are the hub characters of construction enterprises,they take important missions to enterprise development and scientific management,which has a great significance for the study of salary system.This paper takes the theory of Human Resource Management as guidance and the salary system of construction enterprise managers as study aim, summing up the systematic ideological line and theoretical basis for salary system design through an analysis of previous research results.To solve the general problems exist in the salary system of construction enterprise managers in Chinese listed companies,this paper proposes seven hypothetical factors: enterprise performance,enterprise scale,enterprise area,the proportion of state-owned shares,manager Age,education,two part-time job,and takes the empirical test in the correlation between these 7 factors and manager salary. Considering the various factors and the process of salary design,the paper provides three salary modes for construction enterprise managers,such as annual salary system,general salary structure and the salary system for managers based on EVA.Finally,it shows the problems should be payed attention in the process of salary incentive for managers and measure should be taken to solve them. This article is organized as follows:Chapter 1,introduction.Taking the financial crisis and wage system reform in"Two Sessions"as background for study,it summarizes previous studies of salary management theory and illustrats the ideas and methods of innovation.Chapter 2,the basic theory of salary. Defining the concept of salary and salary management,giving the general process and specific methods for salary design and providing the reasonable standards for construction enterprise managers to obtain salary.Chapter 3,the status and problems of salary system of construction enterprise managers in China.Taking listed construction enterprise managers in China as the object, expounding the status of salary system of construction enterprise managers in China and pointing the problems existing in the system.Chapter 4,study of factors affecting the salary of construction enterprise managers.Taking A shares construction companies listed in Shanghai and Shenzhen in 2003-2008 as objects,providing the 7 hypothetical factors affecting the salary of construction enterprise managers and making regression analysis.Chapter 5, design for the salary system of construction enterprise managers. Providing three salary modes of annual salary system for construction enterprise managers,such as annual salary system,general salary structure and the salary system for managers based on EVA.Chapter 6, proposal for the implement of salary system of construction enterprise managers.Providing some supporting measures such as development of manpower training and introduction of mechanisms, strengthening human capital accumulation, etc.
