Yuji,which is the sacrificial rituals of praying for rain, coexist with Nuoji and Zaci, known as the three major sacrifices of ancient China. The word "prototype" comes from Canada critic Northrop Frye. He said:"The prototype is a typical image that is always recurring",it is usually showed by the natural phenomena which related with humanistic features. Sun is the object of sacrificial rituals of praying for rain. Yuji occurs mainly in the dry area in the world, purpose to pursuit the renewable ability. This article is divided into four chapters, the main contents are followings: Chapter 1 Introduction:to introduce the concept, Yuji is the sacrificial rituals of praying for rain.Chapter 2 Prototype:To argue that Sun is the prototype of Yuji, bird and snake are two main images which represent Sun in our world. In the era of emphasizing the human spirit, dragon and phoenix which make snake and bird as its prototype respectively are attached to monarch and empress.Chapter 3 performance:To discuss the drama activities which related to Yuji, in order to explore the drama performance, then illustrate the point that "sacrifice in drama, drama in sacrifice".Chapter 4 Expansion:To conclude the objects of Yuji:Sun, snake and bird, monarch, which are playing the same function of the process in the sacrificial rituals. |
