A Research In The Traditions Of Shi Wizard And Folk Memorial Drama In Countryside In Zhuang Nationality

Zhuang nationality is one of the 55 nationalities in China, which has the second largest populations among all Chinese nations. Like most of those nations having no literary language,the literatures in Zhuang nationality were inherited by verbal forms. The national folk literatures in Zhuang nationality has aroused extended attention by many researchers.As the topic of this thesis goes: A research in the traditions of Shi wizard and folk memorial drama in countryside in Zhuang nationality, the author tries to analyze the folk memorial drama in countryside in Zhuang nationality from the cultural perspective. Viewing from literal rhetoric and trying to figure out more notable senses in social morals, religious believes political and economical structures. On the basis of doing research in countryside and looking for sources in documents, this thesis focuses on the senses of Shi wizard traditions as local folk cultural relics.The whole passage is consisted of five parts:In introduction section, I tried to find out the current research situation in this field and point out current existing problems.In the second part, as some ancient scholars has viewed and based on the anthropologist Robert Redfield's idea about major tradition and minor tradition, here, the thesis tried to define the concept of the traditions of Shi wizard: a thriving folk religious belief originated from ancient times, which is also living in the lives of Zhuang nationalities. There are three characteristics has been concluded from the research: clear-cut nationalities, obvious benefit obsessed and multi-deity belief. We compared the traditions of Shi wizard with Confucianism, Buddhism and Daoism, and focused on the essence of this tradition, finally we defined it as a ancient-inherited folk tradition.In the third part, we introduced the formation of different folk memorial dramas. Folk memorial dramas in countryside in Zhuang nationality are consist of Shigong Drama and Marionette Drama in Zhuang nationality. The previous mentioned Traditions of Shi wizard has great influence in those dramas. These dramas are memorial, folk and simple and unadorned.The four part showed some script of the Shigong Drama in Zhuang nationality, and also analyzed why and how these dramas are simple and unadorned.The last section retrospects the main idea of the whole thesis and makes a brief conclusion.
