| The regional economic growth and coordinated development of urban agglomerations have been the key strategic objectives during China's current social and economic development. And we can conclude from the history of the world economy that Urban agglomerations have become the main form of regional economic growth. Particularly under the background of mordem economic globalization and regional economic integration, it increasingly important contributes to regional economic growth, and has become the core of the regional economy and growth pole,which brings its hinterland development. Thus, we aimed clearly at the development of urbanization and urban agglomerations that were taken as the strategies to encourage and promote the economic and social development in the " Eleventh Five-Year " plan in china. Coordinated development of urban agglomerations can improve our overall national strength and international competitiveness, facilitate the regional development and improve opening ability, be advantageous in the exploration of regional development and regional advanced management modes, help resolve the local special difficulties and self development ability.It has been researched urban agglomerations for a long time and achieved fruitful results.However, it mainly focus on the relevant urban competitiveness, industrial economy,land use, the resource environmental bearing capacity, the sustainable development ability, etc.which is lack relatively in urban agglomeration growth potential,neither when stands at the perspective of theory nor empirical studies, domestic or all over the world. Now many urban agglomerations propose the strategies of development of urban agglomerations in order to get the first development opportunities or important national resources, facing to this complex situation, how to make a reasonable position, establish the regional economic growth pole, concentrate the country's natural resources to foster the potential development of urban agglomerations, promote the national integrated and coordinated economic and social development are critical. Therefore, based on Urban agglomerations in Hunan Province that are developed or developing, this thesis aims at getting some breakthrough in urban agglomeration theory and empirical aspects. And carrying out the study of growth potential measurements and classified cultivation research in Hunan urban agglomerations, which will not only compensate for the important theoretical vacancy, but also have very importantly practical significance for the properly treat with stage of our urban agglomeration development, scientific programming, as well as the follow-up development potential of urban agglomerations guidance.The main frame as follows:To begin with,this thesis based on the status quo and demestic and abroad urban growth potential and other related studies, gives the concepts and definitions of the urban agglomeration and its potential from the perspective of growth potential and the urban agglomeration. According to the principle of distance recession, Chanzhutan urban agglomeration, Loushaoleng urban agglomeration, Yueyichang urban agglomeration, Xiangxi urban agglomeration, Xiangnan urban agglomeration can be mapped out by using Arcgis technology from space, time, gravity three factors, and the analysis is conducted on the basis of integrating operations and overlap tools.Next,selecting 10 key indicators from five aspects of urban agglomeration scale, structure, urban agglomeration economy, resources and environment, urban innovation ability to build a relatively scientific and rational growth potential measure model of urban agglomeration by using Geography, Economics, Management science, Sociology, GIS technology,interdisciplinary theory and methods.and principal component analysis method and the method of entropy were used to obtain the parameters of the main variable, and then measured the growth potential of urban agglomerations in Hunan Province.Moreover,according to comprehensive value of growth potential of individual urban agglomeration, applying the cluster analysis method to classify them. And the results are:Changzhutan urban agglomeration is the maximum and Xiangxi urban agglomeration is the minimum on growth potential in hunan province.At last, according to the differences in growth potential, working out some basic suitable programs and suggestions to cultivation, to enhance their growth potential.Studying on the urban agglomerations from the prospective of growth potential, giving the concepts and definitions of growth potential of urban agglomeration, building the Measure mode of growth potential, clustering and analysising the value of growth potential of urban agglomeration, as well as classified cultivation response to classification are innovative in this thesis. |
