With the development of the reform and expansion of higher education, private-run higher education has leapt forward in recent years, with a continuous expansion of its size and scale, as well as the number of students at colleges. However, while facing the opportunity of growth, private colleges and universities also run up against strong competition. Due to the expansion of state-run higher education and the growth of other kinds of schools, there are mounting pressures for private colleges. What should private colleges do to survive in the fierce competition? Building up the ranks of teachers may solve the problem. However, there are some problems existing in teachers' incentives policies of human resources management, which seriously impedes the development of private colleges. Therefore, Doing research on and building up effective teachers'incentives system is one of the most important issues that private colleges are facing now.On the basis of incentive theories, performance appraisal and researches at home and broad, this thesis adopts some methods such as questionnaire survey, personal interview and so on, to do a profound research on teachers' incentive system in CN College. Furthermore, applying the qualitative and quantitative research, this thesis tries to optimize teachers' incentives system to conform to its practical situation. This thesis may help to find out the problems in CN College's incentives policies, mobilize teachers' initiatives and creativity, and improve the level and quality of teaching, which finally helps CN College to achieve its objective.By optimizing CN College's incentives system, this thesis remedies the following defects in motivation mechanism in private colleges:the lack of sense of belonging, unscientific teachers' performance appraisal, deficiencies in care for teachers' needs, weak democratic management, etc. This thesis hopes to be of some reference to the healthy and sustainable development of private-run education.
