The motivation mechanism of strategic purchaser is studied in this paper. With the development of the technology, the competition among enterprises becomes intense in the world wide. The nature of competition among enterprises is the competition of its core technology and supply chain. Strategic procurement is becoming an effective means of improving enterprises'performance in knowledge economy times.Strategic procurement is by no means of traditional purchasing. It is a systematic and data analyzing based strategy activity. There is no doubt that the performance of strategy purchaser is decisive of the performance of strategy purchasing. How to motivate strategic purchasers effectively to enhance their initiative and loyalty becomes the focal point of human resource management work in modern enterprise. But the existing motivation theories can't give adequate guidance to the enterprise management practice.In order to meet the requirement, the study was carried out on the motivation mechanism of strategic purchaser. In this paper, firstly, strategic purchaser's vocational characteristics and demands were analyzed. Then we expound the motivation theory, setting up principle and analyze the present situation of strategic purchaser motivation mechanism and its weakness. Based on this, we expound the possible equity incentive type choose for strategic purchasers and the strategic purchaser performance evaluation system which ensure to implement equity incentive successfully. In order to broaden the scope of the equity incentive, EVA theory is discussed also. Case studies further verify the result of the research. Finally, the conclusion was reached. At the end of the dissertation, we explained the innovation and shortcoming about this paper.In this dissertation, we mainly focus on how to give full play to strategic purchaser's human capital value. We reviewed the corporate governance, incentives and other related theoretical knowledge. We studied the practical problem in modern manufacturing enterprise by applying some research methods, like theoretical analysis, case analysis etc. It will evolve the incentive theories and give guidance to the enterprise practice.
