A Study On The Adjustment Of China's Economic Development Strategy Since The 16th CPC National Congress

China's economic development has achieved a brilliant success, which derives from formulating and implementing the correct economic development strategy. Whether the economic development strategy conforms to the conditions of a country and rules of its economic development has direct effect on the quality and speed of economic development over a period of a country. Making the correct economic development strategy or not reflects the administrative ability of the Party and the government and is also the key to whether China's socialist modernization can be successful. To make adjustments to the economic development strategy is to enrich, amend, develop and improve its previous strategy according to new situations and new requirements of practice. Since the Sixteenth National Congress of CPC, the Central Party Committee with Hu Jintao as general secretary have proposed the Scientific Outlook on Development as a major strategic guiding thought with a high degree of political perspicacity and sense of responsibility. And the Scientific Outlook on Development also calls for guiding overall economic and social development. Correspondingly, in the face of new developmental issues, a series of new adjustments to China's economic development strategy have been made. These adjustments enrich and develop the economic theory of socialism with Chinese characteristics, so they have great theoretical and practical significance.This thesis mainly conducted a systematic study on the Adjustments of China's Economic Development Strategy since the 16th National Congress of the CPC. The thesis is divided into four parts.The first part primarily outlines the concept and elements of the economic development strategy, and analyzes the necessity to develop, adjust and implement economic development strategy from some aspects such as China is an emerging economic power, a developing and a socialist country, and historical practice of economic development.The second part explains the theoretical and practical basis for adjusting China's economic development strategy since the 16th National Congress of the CPC. The practical basis is some major problems arising in the practice of economic development., while the direct theoretical basis is the Scientific Outlook on Development.In the third part, based on briefly reviewing china's previous economic development strategy, this thesis summarizes the contents of adjustments including strategic goals, strategic focus, strategic principles and strategic layout.In the fourth part, the characteristics of the adjustment of economic development strategy are discussed, which are the unity of theory and practice, inheritance and innovation, science and feasibility. Besides, this thesis also analyzes these adjustments'theoretical and practical significance to china's economic development.
