Traffic accessibility, serving as a comprehensive indicator for evaluating regional traffic network, plays an important role on development and spatial structure evolution of regional economy. Traffic condition is a significant symbol of developed degree of regional economy.Based on analysis and summary of existing research in this field, and adopting ARCGIS as the tool, this paper analyzes the patterns and development of regional traffic accessibility, with the researching objects confining in Xingjiang and its 85 counties (cities). The researching method of this paper is a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis. This paper also discusses development of traffic accessibility and its effect on regional economy, hoping to promote a sound progress of Xinjiang traffic accessibility and a stable, harmonious and balanced regional economy, and provide strong evidence to partition of development priority zones. The conclusions of this paper are as follows:I. This paper discusses Xinjiang traffic accessibility and its evaluation features, using ARCGIS as a tool and processing a series of calculation on formation communication and accessibility. In terms of traffic accessibility, G312 and G314 and its along line regions are preferable than other regions; eastern part is better than western part; North Xinjiang is better than South Xinjiang. Traffic accessibility of Xinjiang and its counties, along with the gradual perfection of Xinjiang transportation network, have been greatly improved. Yet, Xinjiang traffic accessibility is of a low overall level and disproportion; transportation of a number of counties (cities) is still underdeveloped. So Xinjiang transportation network still needs greater investments to improve road level.II. Notable diversities between regions are discovered through analysis on regional economy. In terms of space distribution, intra-county economies wear off along arterial traffic, and possess two features of banding assemblage and spatial clustering in southwest part of south Xinjiang. Conclusively, Xinjiang regional economy, mainly relying on primary factor of production as regional basic installation and natural resources, is still at a primary stage.III. This paper, using traffic accessibility ratio, analyzes the relationship between Xinjiang transportation network and economy development from the year of 1997 to 2007. Dividing Xinjiang into four regions, this paper also provides developing countermeasures for each kind of regions. The results show that transportation and economy have a close relationship. Transportation is connection tie of Xinjiang region economy. Belt economic structure has a close relationship with space effect of basic installation. Transportation direction determines space features on regional economy. |
