Evolution And Driving Factors Of Spatial Structure Of Regional Economic Relations In Yunnan Province

With the rapid development of China’s economy over 40 years of reform and opening up,the regional economic development pattern guided by regional central cities has become an important task for regional economic development and planning in the face of the requirements of coordinated development of regional economy in the new era.The flattening and networking trend of regional economic development is more and more obvious.The phenomenon of regional imbalance of urban economic connection network in Yunnan province is quite prominent,which seriously restricts the pace of social economic transformation under the background of network development in the new era.Therefore,it is of great significance to scientifically understand the spatio-temporal pattern of the evolution of economic relations in Yunnan Province,the development status of the network and explore the main driving factors for realizing the sustainable,coordinated and healthy development of economic society in Yunnan Province.The formation of regional economic relations and network structure is mainly based on the relationship between different subjects,which cannot be studied by traditional econometrics.Therefore,this paper tries to combine regional economics with geography and sociology to analyze the problems of regional economy in terms of spatial scale and network structure.This paper takes 16 prefecture-level prefectures and cities in Yunnan Province as the research object,takes the Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development as the time interval and selects 2000,2005,2010,2015 and 2020 as the research time nodes,and combines quantitative and qualitative research to study the situation of regional economic relations in Yunnan Province.Firstly,through the entropy comprehensive index evaluation method,21 evaluation indexes were selected from four aspects: economic synthesis,development potential,opening degree and city scale to synthesize the comprehensive evaluation level of city quality.Secondly,Arc GIS software is used to vectorize the corresponding traffic and tourism maps of each year,and assign the speed of traffic roads of different levels respectively.OD cost distance tool in Arc GIS is used to calculate the 16x16 time cost distance matrix of two cities.Thirdly,the gravity model is introduced to measure the economic connection level value among 16 prefecture-level prefectures and cities in Yunnan Province,and the economic connection level is analyzed by combining the total amount of economic connection,economic membership degree and economic location degree of each state and city,and the "0-1" matrix of social network analysis is constructed based on the value of economic connection level.The network structure and evolution characteristics of urban development in Yunnan Province are analyzed.Finally,10 driving factors that may influence the evolution of regional economic links in Yunnan province were selected,and matrix regression analysis was carried out on Ucinet software platform to explore the driving factors that influence the level of economic links in different years.The results show that:(1)the development of 16 prefecture-level prefectures and cities in Yunnan Province presents a growing trend on the whole,and the development differences among different cities are further widening,mainly reflected in the gap between Kunming and other prefecture-level cities;(2)The improvement of traffic conditions in Yunnan Province accelerated and then tended to slow down,and the improvement of traffic conditions was closely related to geographical location;(3)The economic relation level values of states and cities show two spatial characteristics: central city orientation and adjacent region orientation.With the development of cities,the level of economic connection between cities gradually increases,and the economic location degree of central cities decreases year by year.Meanwhile,the government needs to pay attention to prevent the rebound of polarization effect.(4)The network structure of Yunnan Province has not yet formed in the initial year of the study.In 2020,the network structure of Yunnan Province has been improved,with more direct correlation among cities and the phenomenon of coordinated development emerging,but there is still a large space for improvement.The main direction of development within the region is further identified from the division of coacervation subgroups.(5)Different years have different driving factors on the level of regional economic ties.With the passage of time,the driving factors gradually shift from the income factor to the industrial development factor,and the convenience of traffic conditions breaks the limitation of geographical adjacency.Based on the above conclusions,relevant policy suggestions are put forward for the coordinated development of regional economy in Yunnan Province:(1)Strengthen the construction of regional central cities,gradually weaken the polarization effect,and take improving the connection between central cities and other areas of the province as the development direction;(2)Cultivate new growth poles within the region to further reduce geographical limitations;(3)Accelerate the construction of fast and high-grade transportation infrastructure to promote the large circulation of the regional market;(4)Improve the radiation carrying capacity of marginal cities and pay attention to industrial complementarity;(5)Establish an effective new mechanism for coordinated regional development,and give full play to the government’s "visible hand" intervention in regional economy in a limited and efficient way.
