On The Construction Of The Four-dimensional System In Management Practice

Temporary Chinese enterprises are carring out the western management theories to a great extent. But behind the development of Chinese enterprises, they have their own deep historical tradition and cultural roots. So it would be meaningful both theoretically and practically if we rediscover and integrate the merit of our traditional Chinese management thinking and construct an appropriate system out of it.Dao, Fa, Shu, Shi are traditional Chinese management thinking. But in history, they are more of political tactics than management thinking. To see them from management philosophy's point of view and integrate them with western management theories, I think 'Dao' refers to idea, 'Fa' stands for management system, 'Shu' is the specific management tactics and 'Shi' means environment. Based on the conditions of the Chinese enterprises' management situation and steering by the management goals, it would be an positive exploration if we construct a four-dimensional system composed by 'Dao'-managerial idea, 'Fa'-managerial system, 'Shu'-managerial tactic and 'Shi'-managerial environment. This study found that the four-dimensional system composed by Dao, Fa, Shu, Shi is assuming a shape as a tetrahedron. 'Dao' is the core of the system, it regulates, operates and drives 'Fa', 'Shu' and 'Shi'; on the other hand, Fa, Shu, Shi are the auxiliary wings of the system. They react on 'Dao' from three aspects, the aspect of management system, the aspect of management tactics and the aspect of management environment . This action and reaction activity put the four together and inseparable.Enterprises should make right strategies according to 'Dao', to "do right things". Also we should optimize and reorganize 'Fa', 'Shu' and 'Shi', to "do things rightly". So we should put 'Dao', 'Fa', 'Shu', 'Shi' into enterprises' management practice and construct a four-dimensional system that suits our Chinese enterprises' management practice well. During the process of construct and practice of the four-dimensional system, we should follow the principle of "to proceed from reality". At the same time, we should base on the enterprises' management practice, make clear the goal of the enterprise and clarify the levels of management in order to enforce the four-dimensional system's management effect.
