On The Exhibition And The Theme Of World Expo

This paper starts with a brief introduction of World Expo, then points out the basic theory of the exhibition design, the features and the creating approach of exhibition buildings and exhibition space in contemporary World Expo, and the analysis is carried out combined with typical cases of contemporary World Expo. Besides, the exhibition designs of China Pavilion and Shanxi section in Shanghai World Expo are studied based on the theory mentioned above, and I put forward my own opinions. This paper is divided into six chapters:Chapter 1 presents a brief introduction, the reason for proposing the issue, the purpose, significance and objects of the research, and the results of related research done home and abroad.Chapter 2 is an overview of World Expo, including its conception, organization and classification, history, theme evolution and the basic theory of Expo exhibition design, involving the form of exhibition space, dynamic routes of time, ground plan, spatial composition, color and lighting, and the application of ergonomics.Chapter 3, from"human activities"in space, summarizes the new features of the contemporary exhibitions displayed in the information age: diversity, playability, interactivity and temporariness, which are the internal drive of constant evolution of contemporary exhibition space. Furthermore, from the ontological content of architecture, this chapter discusses the development of exhibition construction and space in the information age, including the evolution of exhibition space and ways of exhibition, and the softening of space and streamline organizations. Then, combined with the analysis of typical cases in contemporary World Expo exhibition, the new features new and creative approaches of World Expo exhibition display space are summed up, covering the introduction of ecological concepts, the expression of local culture and so on, from which we can have an overall understanding of the exhibition architecture and displaying space in contemporary World Expo.Chapter 4 is an overview of Shanghai World Expo, including the background, the theme, planning and implementation, and further analyzes the exhibition design of China Pavilion in Shanghai World Expo according to the theories of the previous two chapters, involving the exhibition design, cultural elements, ecological energy saving and characteristics of the time. Chapter 5 analyzes the theme and display of local pavilions, especially the theme and exhibition design of Shanxi section. The further analysis is carried out on the design, cultural ideas, technical support and characteristics of the times of Shanxi section.Chapter 6 serves as a conclusion, where my own views on participating in the World Expo of local pavilions are proposed.
