| Iron ore resources are the basic material of human survival and development, in recent years, with the rapid development of economic, substantial steel production and the consumption of iron ore resources have also increased. Although the whole iron ore resources are rich in China, as the average grade is relatively low and with other components, it's difficult to meet the needs of the domestic steel industry, so the security and situation of our iron ore resources are becoming severe. For a long time, Chinese iron ore are in short supply. So, a large number of imported foreign high-quality iron ore become the first choice for Chinese steel industry. The iron ore of steel industry development needed are more and more dependent on imported and rising year by year. Under the circumstances, the geological exploration work need to further strengthen for improve the utilization level of iron ore resources.This article from the major types, characteristics and distribution of our iron ore resources, analyzed the geological exploration achievements in recent years. More than 50 years, planed iron geological research work, formed a good theoretical knowledge of iron ore geology. Summarized the synclinal ore-controlling, metamorphosed sedimentary ore deposit and contact metasomatic deposit type and porphyrite iron deposit, elaborated the prospecting fruits, analyzed the ore prospecting potentiality of main types, Combined with the characteristics of Chinese iron ore resources supply and demand, development problems, proposed countermeasures of contradiction between the supply and demand, in order to maintains stability, healthy development and improve our steel production industry's international competitiveness.This article is instanced the iron ore deposits of Qidong in Hunan, specifically described the basis of the iron ore geology, analyzed the reserves evaluation and the availability of mining, and a series of issues in the development process such as environmental protection. |
