Analysis And Empirical Study On Agricultural Productivity Of Yuan'an Country, Hubei Province

Agricultural productivity is an important tool to measure the agricultural efficiency and to conduct agricultural activity. Facing with the increasingly scare agricultural resources, to save resources, improve agricultural productivity and maximize the agricultrual output is of great significance to a nation's agricultrue development and the basis of a nation's economy. That's why so many agricultrual scientists, economists and grovernment officials always pay attention to the agricultural productivity as well as how to improve it.Taking the county as the research object, focusing on agricultural productivity, this paper has analyzed Yuan'an County's agricultural productivity and its change process from the microscopic level. This paper studies the feasible ways to improve agricultural productivity, aiming to raise counties' comprehensive productivity by improving agricultural productivity. This article adopts the empirical analysis method, taking the measurement and modification of Yuan'an County's agriculture productivity as key content. First, to compare each county's agricultural productivity in Hubei Province in order to weight the actural level of Yuan'an County agriculture productivity in Hubei Province. The result shows that Yuan'an County's agricultural productivity is in the low position in the entire province. Second, to analyze Yuan'an County the agricultural productivity longitudinally and test Yuan'an County's agriculture productivity from 1994 to 2006 by single essential factor productivity and the total factor productivity analytic method. Then describe the Yuan'an County agricultural production development through the total factor productivity's change tendency. The results show that over the years the most essential factors' productivity, except for capital's, rises gradually with some fluctuation, and the economic growth owns 36.46% to the total factor productivity's contribution and still have the protential to grow.Last, the paper uses the DEA data envelope analytic method to carry on the crosswise reckoning in Yuan'an County various villages and towns agricultural productivity in 2006, and decomposes the agricultural productivity to find out the disadvantages of each towns and villages by constructing effective production front surface, and then proposes plan and target for improvement. The results show that the main reason for the low agriclutural productivity is the low input of certain agricultural factors or the waste caused by the unsatisfactory structure and low efficiency of resources. The paper also proposes the countermeasure suggestion according to the above in order to improve the agriculture productivity. This article embarks from the county territory unit level, the studies and analyzes agriculture productivity problems, which provides a more complete mentality and the analysis framework for the measurement and analysis of regional agricultural productivity from the standard microscopic level. The productivity growth pattern made by this study and the established DEA data envelope model in this paper can provide reference for the study of other regions' agricultural productivity.
