An Empirical Study On Relationship Between Logistics Services Innovation And Logistics Performance

Cutting down resources consumption, regarded as The First Profit Source, and improving labor productivity, regarded as The Second Profit Source, have already arrived at a relative development limit. Correspondingly, the modern logistics industry which is generally considered as The Third Profit Source emerged around the world widely. Although logistics industry in China has gotten certain development, as for the overall current situation of logistics, it has very big disparity to satisfy our country's economic development, to realize high efficient and non-barrier flowing of commodity, and to compare with the developed country and the area. There still exists many problems, of which the most important things are high logistics costs, low customer satisfaction and inefficient logistics. Therefore, it is very important and essential to obtain the remarkable improvement of logistics performance by logistics scientific innovation, so that enterprises can be at a distinct competitive advantage.On literature search and theoretical analysis's foundation, four hypotheses were proposed, namely, the idea innovation has the remarkable influence on logistics performance; the technological innovation has the positive influence on logistics performance; the personnel innovation has the remarkable influence on logistics performance; the market innovation has remarkable influence on logistics performance.In view of the relatively developed degree of logistics industry, this dissertation mainly selected logistics enterprises in Wuhan Urban Economic Cycle as research objects, and conducted relative empirical study by in-depth interviews and questionnaires. In this paper, by utilizing statistics software, the author carried on exploratory factor analyses, and obtained innovative logistics services and their respective characteristics of four types of elements, logistics performance indicators and their respective characteristics of the four elements. Then reliability and validity testing was completed separately.Statistical analyses for hypothesis testing were carried on. Firstly, the correlation analyses of types and the respective characteristic essential factors of logistics service innovation are conducted, and then the regression analyses were carried on. Finally, differences that logistics service innovation types had influenced on logistics performance had been tested.After the above process of hypothesis testing, it was discovered that only the testing results of hypothesis I: the idea innovation had remarkable influence to logistics performance, were partially supported by respective factors. That is to say, the idea of logistics finance and the idea of green logistics management have no apparent correlation with logistics performance. This is more different than expected. Moreover, other statistical results, which have been proved, can support the hypotheses.Finally, the theoretical analyses of the results of hypotheses testing were carried on, and two propositions that do not support the hypothesis were explained. Based on this, the Strategic recommendations were put forward.This research's practice significance lies in: Why does enterprise conduct the logistics service innovation, and how to? And essential reason lies that the logistics service innovation can enhance logistics performance. And the purposes of writing this article are: (1)to urge enterprises to pay more attention to logistics service innovation; (2)to help enterprises to clearly recognize the relationship between logistics innovation and logistics performance;(3)to improve logistics management, and enhance the competitive advantages.
